Yea!! An interview set up for Monday at 1:00 in Huntsville -- so excited!! Left applications at both City of Cullman and Cullman County Board of Educations but not sure these would really pay what I need, but would be very close to home.
Thanks, Rex, for a great job on the bushhogging. The yard looks so much better. You are a great cousin and friend! Painters are still on the job finishing the ceilings. Trim work will be done next week and then painters will return to paint walls.
I'll be glad when the doors are put on and the house can be locked up - although it is easy to just drive over and check everything out!

Painting and more
The entire house has been painted with prime coat. YEA!!!!! This is a definite praise. And ... the footings have been poured for the front porch ... and ... we caught Rex Johnson on his way to the property to do bushhogging for us -- Another praise!!! We had just left visiting Glenda and Jay in Hanceville (after visiting with Cousin Midge at the nursing home -- she was getting her hair done) and had gone by the new house and was headed home when who should pass us on his tractor but Rex Johnson!! So we of course turned around, showed him all the new stuff that had been done since he was there last, and then allowed him to start bushhogging while we made our way home so we could have dinner and then make Weds night service at Spring Arbor. The pastor had asked Barron to teach the men's class while Jan had the last session of the women's bible study (and what a good one it has been!). Sure missed the various ones who were out of town and pray safe passage on them returning home!

Prayer Need
Barron got a call today that his uncle (Dad's brother in north GA) is not doing well in his fight against prostate cancer. The children have called in hospice. Barron's other uncle (Dad's brother in Ohio) is fighting cancer as well. Please lift up the families of Bennie and Clyde Scott.

Southside BC - Athens, AL
Wow! Can you believe this is the same church that was our mission project in 2006? It is simply beautiful! Cathy and Doyle Graham had invited us to come for worship and their 4th Sunday fellowship dinner. We had a great time visiting with David and Jennifer Kobeck (their music is still terrific!) and family, Jeff Suggs, Wanda Nelson, Cindy McKee, Pastors Joey and Justin - to name a few! We also got to check out Doyle and Cathy's new home and John and Heather's home-to-be (under construction just a few blocks from her parents). If you have not had an opportunity to see it first-hand, you will want to do so!!

On to Painting
Sheetrock will be completed this week and thank goodness Elizabeth was here to help me finalize my paint colors because Blake needs them now. We also ordered flooring, both hardwood and tile. Worked with lady choosing a tile border design for master bath shower and jacuzzi. (Again thanks to Elizabeth for her expertise) Ordered door from garage to back hall - it will be like the french door with inside blind but only half glass (thought we might want a little privacy since our bathroom, 1/2 bath and laundry room are near that door)
So exciting how the house is coming together!! The soffitt work is as complete as it can be until the porch is poured and railings on. We are having fun walking through with friends and seeing how excited they are for us - especially when they helped work on the house!

Baseball Championship
Wow!! Did we have fun at the Opening Ceremonies for the Dizzy Dean 11 yr old baseball series - right here in Cullman, Alabama!! Jason Calvert, a dear friend, happened to mention on the phone that his son, Luke, had been chosen to catch the "first ball pitched" so we hurried to Heritage Park and caught all the action. They even had Cullman Skydivers to bring in the ceremonial baseball! It was fantastic!! Teams were there from Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Florida and Georgia. The games begin tomorrow. I became a baseball fan when Nate started in T-ball and then started following the Atlanta Braves. Our daughter, son and a friend were allowed to skip school (actually in the Atlanta metroplex it was a free day) when the Braves won the World Series (some years back now) and attend the big parade. There is more to that story but you need to ask Elizabeth or Nate as they saw it all first-hand (it involved large crowds, large people, and shooting). I was so happy when Nate decided to play church softball and I could once again enjoy going to the ballpark and cheering on him and our team! Then we learned Eva, the oldest daughter of our friends in Texas, was playing softball and we got to catch a few of her games too.
Sheetrock and Soffitt Work
All the sheetrock is up, but now comes the taping, muding and sanding. That should take most of next week. The vinyl soffit is on the entire back of the house and looks fantastic!! Pictures will be added to blog tomorrow.
Family Together
Thanks to Nate's suggestion, before Barron and I moved to Cullman, and Elizabeth, Chris and kids to Phenix City, we all gathered at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens and had family pictures made. Cameron did a great job, especially considering she had nine people to work with!! Don't you love Barron wearing his new stetson!
